MEET THE OWNER
Michael “Mike” Modro is the Founder & CEO of Modro & Company Builders, Inc., a renowned construction company celebrated for its expertise and excellence in the field. With a wealth of experience and business acumen, Mike has steered the company to success and established its reputation as a leader in the construction industry.
Modro was born in Idaho to Polish parents and spent much of his childhood in Vienna, Austria. During his youth amongst Vienna’s timeworn streets, Modro discovered his love for aesthetic elegance and decided to pursue his passion for business. Soon after, Modro became a Cal State Long Beach student, where he enjoyed a career as a professional ice skater. During this time, Modro also began cultivating his entrepreneurial talents by starting his own insurance company, which he continued to operate before graduating from CSULB with his degree in finance.
Mike is an Orange County-based businessman with an eye for luxury and a flair for adventure. As a long-time entrepreneur and former professional athlete, Modro is a master of integrating hardworking business practices with a commitment to bold, adventurous ideas. Italian Custom Imports, Modro’s interior design firm, and the luxury clothing line, Established 46, are just some of Modro’s previous successful enterprises, which began his career during his years in college. Modro’s exceptional expertise in business development is marked by the quality leadership that stems from a lifetime of entrepreneurial experience.
Mike created Modro & Company Builders, Inc. because of his deep appreciation for real estate in SoCal, passion for sleek homes, and desire to help build growth and sustainability in our local community. His specialty lies in building unique and authentic homes in Southern California, honoring our area’s traditional, classic, and contemporary designs.
Mike’s passion for adventure and his commitment to delivering quality craftsmanship drive his professional and personal pursuits. As an outdoor enthusiast, he finds joy in activities like parasailing, camping, and spending time with his beloved dogs. Despite being the dynamo behind his many business ventures, Modro still finds time to indulge his love for adventure; as an avid kite-surfer, he likes to spend his free time traveling the tropics in search of the perfect ocean breeze and spending time with his fiancé, Lauren.
Let’s create your family legacy & build the home or project of your dreams!

ORANGE COUNTRY RESCUE MISSION
The men, women and children who enter the gates of the Orange County Rescue Mission come from many walks of life and are all wounded in different ways. Some are highly educated, many are survivors of abuse, addiction and abandonment. None of these people ever imagined they’d be homeless and they all need our help.
Their Mission is to minister the love of Jesus Christ to the Least, the Last, and the Lost of our Community through the provision of assistance in the areas of guidance, counseling, education, job training, shelter, food, clothing, health care and independent living communities.
Building Humanity was conceived in 2008 when Erin Colshan was interning on an archaeological dig in Porolissum-Moigrad, Romania. There was a lot of support coming into the community during the summer with the international students, but once the students left, support stopped.
The local museum director and lead archaeologist, Alexandru Matei, who became a dear friend and mentor, encouraged Erin to find a way to continue helping the community after students left.
With this challenge in mind, Erin went home and together with her mother, Stephanie, took the steps to create a nonprofit. Initially donations were coming from past students who had worked in the area, and our main focus was helping the community Moigrad.
But soon, Building Humanity was being contacted about other communities and families in Transylvania needing assistance. Eventually the focus became the Caminul Felix orphanage in Oradea, which needed help with construction projects.
That is when Building Humanity began to shift into what it is today. With her training as an architect, Erin realized that she could utilize her education and experience in architecture to help communities who might not have access to these services. Erin discovered a huge interest to lend professional experience pro bono, and Building Humanity began to tap into that desire. By reaching out to contacts made throughout her travels, Erin asked about communities in need of help, and calls have come in from every corner of the world; Romania, Thailand, Peru, Ghana, Madagascar, Tanzania, and more.

Precious Life Shelter provides residential and supportive services for homeless pregnant women and their children. Precious Life Shelter, Inc., was opened January 1, 1989, to provide a loving, home-like environment for the woman seeking to give birth to her child in a safe place. Its purpose was to provide emergency and transitional housing, food, and immediate necessities for mother and baby. Extended care housing, eventually called Single Parent Efficiency units, was opened in February 1991 and the Emergency Shelter in April 1992.
The final development of their properties on Reagan Street is complete. The capacity to serve allows a woman to stay from one to thirty days as an emergency resident; two to three months after birth in The Sherrin House as a transitional new mother; and up to twenty-four months as a Single Parent Efficiency resident.
Placement in their Reunification units will be determined by the needs of the children, plus the infant and mother being served.
The childcare facility will continue to operate for their working women who choose to use their services as their care provider.
Other children needing care will be provided for off-site at the mother’s discretion
